Estonia international midfielder Mattias Käit continued his strong form in the Swiss top flight as Thun claimed a 3-1 away victory over Servette, extending their lead at the top of the table.

Thun, who returned to the Swiss Super League this season, have been one of the league’s biggest surprises and added another statement result on Sunday. In recent weeks, they recorded notable wins against the league’s last two champions, defeating Young Boys 4-1 and winning away at Basel 2-1.

Heading into the round, Thun already held a nine-point advantage over their nearest challengers. With Lugano dropping points the previous day, Käit’s side had the opportunity to further increase their lead.

Against Servette, Thun opened the scoring in the 40th minute through North Macedonia international Elmin Rastoder. Early in the second half, the visitors doubled their advantage. Servette’s situation worsened later in the match when they were reduced to ten men, leaving the hosts with little room to recover. The two sides exchanged goals in the closing stages, but Thun comfortably saw out the match to secure all three points.

Käit once again played the full 90 minutes. For the 27-year-old midfielder, this was his 16th league appearance of the season, during which he has recorded one goal and one assist.

With the victory, Thun have extended their lead over their closest competitors to 11 points, strengthening their position at the top of the standings. They will look to continue their winning run on Thursday, when they host Lausanne in search of a seventh consecutive league victory.
