FS Jelgava have bolstered their attacking options with the addition of Latvian forward Ruslans Deružinskis, who joins the club on loan from FC RFS for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old is currently enjoying his first full season in the Virslīga and spent the first half of the campaign on loan at SK Super Nova. There, he featured in 17 matches and scored three goals, showing flashes of his potential. Now, the promising striker makes the move to Jelgava, where he will continue his development under head coach Aleksandrs Basovs.
A product of the Riga Football School (Rīgas Futbola Skola) academy, Deružinskis joined the RFS system in 2023. While he made three senior appearances for the RFS first team last year, his main impact came with the reserves in the Latvian First League (Nākotnes Liga), where he scored an impressive 18 goals in 23 matches.
His performances have not gone unnoticed on the international stage either — Deružinskis made his debut for Latvia’s U21 national team this June in a match against Austria.
