Latvian second-tier football club JDFS Alberts has entered into a new international partnership with TMT FC, a leading football academy in The Gambia, aiming to strengthen youth development and talent exchange between the two countries.

The agreement marks the first collaboration of its kind between a Latvian football organization and a Gambian club. It focuses on creating pathways for young players from both regions, offering them opportunities for training, talent scouting, and international experience.

JDFS Alberts Vice President Jānis Pakalns traveled to The Gambia for the signing ceremony, highlighting the club’s commitment to the project. Speaking at the event, Pakalns said:

“The Gambia has incredible talent. We’re excited to tap into that potential and create lasting opportunities. We’ve already seen Gambian players thrive in Latvia, and we believe this partnership will help uncover even more stars in the years ahead.”

The partnership also involves two other organizations: the Baltic Sports Agency (BSA), represented by FIFA-licensed agent Patriks Ancāns, and Adoura Sports Consulting, a U.S.-based sports consultancy with experience across Europe and Africa, represented by Francis Abalo.

TMT FC President Omar H.O. Saidykhan and several club officials attended the signing, where the partners outlined plans for talent development, professional opportunities, and broader cooperation in football activities.

Pakalns noted that JDFS Alberts sees the agreement as more than symbolic, stating:

“For us, this is not just a gesture. It’s a real commitment to development and long-term cooperation.”

JDFS Alberts is one of Latvia’s most well-established football schools, recognized for its strong youth programs and consistent presence in top-level Latvian football. They are currently leading in the Nākotnes līga and are seen as main contenders for direct promotion to the Virslīga next season.
