Head coach Edgaras Jankauskas has named his squad as the Lithuanian men’s national football team gets ready for October’s FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
Preparations kick off on Monday in Kaunas, followed by a trip north to Helsinki on Wednesday, where Lithuania will meet Finland on Thursday evening. Just a few days later, on Sunday, October 12, the national side returns to Kaunas to welcome Poland at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium.
Compared to last month’s lineup, several changes stand out. Pijus Širvys and Vykintas Slivka return to the roster after recovering from minor injuries, while fans will once again see the experienced Fedor Černych, who has been in excellent form in the Lithuanian A Lyga.
Another noteworthy addition is forward Edgaras Dubickas, whose name hasn’t appeared on the team sheet since 2021. Having joined Italian club Ternana this summer, Dubickas has wasted no time finding the net in Serie C and now looks to bring that sharpness back to the international stage. He has previously made four appearances for the national side.
