Estonian women’s national team inside the Kadriorg Stadium suffered a 0–3 defeat to group leaders Israel in the UEFA Women’s Nations League, a result that ended Estonia’s hopes of advancing.
The match started evenly, but after 15 minutes, Israel began to take control—driven by the dangerous Talia Sommer, who repeatedly tested Estonian goalkeeper Katarina Elisabeth Käpa. Käpa kept Estonia in the game early, making several strong saves.
Estonia’s best chance came in the 25th minute when Anette Salei found Karola Purgats in the box, but Israel’s keeper and defense held firm. Israel hit the crossbar from a free kick in the 28th minute before finally breaking through in the 39th, when Sommer set up Noa Selimhodzic for the opener.
The second half saw more pressure from Israel, while Estonia had limited attacking moments. Liselle Palts managed a shot on target in the 61st minute, but it caused no trouble. Israel doubled the lead in the 75th minute through Smadar Cohen after a loose ball from a set piece, and Maayan Ben Israel sealed the result in stoppage time.
Estonia was missing various key players due to injury, including captain Inna Zlidnis, Lisette Tammik, and Vlada Kubassova, making the task even tougher.
With the win, Israel stays top of Group C. Estonia, on one point, now faces Bulgaria on June 3 in Sofia in a must-win match for second place. Only group winners and the top two runners-up advance.
