The schedule for the 2026 Baltic Cup has been officially confirmed, setting up another edition of international football’s oldest still-active national team tournament in Europe. First held in 1928, the competition once again brings together Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and invited guests the Faroe Islands.
This year’s matches will be played during the international window on June 6 and June 9. The semifinals will take place on June 6, with the final and the third-place match scheduled three days later.
One of the semifinals will see Lithuania host Latvia at the Dariaus ir Girėno Stadium in Kaunas. The matchup renews a fierce regional rivalry and repeats the 2024 semifinal pairing, when Lithuania defeated Latvia 2-0 before eventually finishing as runners-up.
In the other semifinal, defending champions Estonia will host the Faroe Islands in Tallinn. Estonia claimed the Baltic Cup title in 2024, defeating the Faroe Islands 4-1 in the semifinal and overcoming Lithuania on penalties in the final.
The June 9 matchday will feature the final and the third-place playoff, bringing the 2026 edition to a close.
The Baltic Cup is the oldest national-team football competition still being played in Europe, first staged in 1928. Latvia are the competition’s most successful nation with 13 titles, Lithuania have lifted the trophy 10 times, and Estonia have won it on five occasions. Iceland, appearing once as a guest nation, has also claimed the title.
