In the Italian Serie A the Lithuanian star Ginas Gineitis made headlines once again by scoring his second goal of the season, helping Torino secure a 2-1 victory over AC Milan.

The 20-year-old Gvidas Gineitis started the match on the bench as Torino faced a struggling AC Milan, who had recently suffered an embarrassing exit from the UEFA Champions League after failing to defeat Dutch side Feyenoord at home.

Torino took an early lead in the 5th minute when Malick Thiaw scored an own goal, putting them ahead 1-0. Milan’s woes continued when Christian Pulisic had a chance to equalize in the 32nd minute with a penalty kick, but his attempt was saved by Torino’s goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

In the 70th minute, Gvidas Gineitis came off the bench to replace former Chelsea player Cesare Casadei, with the score still at 1-0. Just four minutes later, Tijjani Rijnders managed to tie the game for AC Milan. However, Gineitis quickly became the hero of the match.

Following a foul near the penalty box, Torino’s Sanabria took a quick free kick, catching the Milan defenders off guard. The ball found its way to Gineitis, who skillfully placed a precise shot into the far corner, beating Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan and restoring Torino’s lead. This goal marked Gineitis’s second of the season and his second in Serie A.

Torino held on to win, marking their third consecutive home victory against AC Milan. Gineitis made a significant impact on the game, contributing with his 20 minutes on the pitch and securing the game-winning goal in just his 19th appearance this season.

Thanks to this victory, Torino climbed to 11th place in the league with a total of 31 points. Gineitis and his teammates will look to build on this success in their next match, which will take place next Sunday as they travel to face AC Monza.
