A shock result unfolded in the Estonian Premium Liiga as Harju JK Laagri defeated reigning champions Flora Tallinn 2-0, securing one of the biggest surprises of the season so far.

The victory marked a historic milestone for Harju – their first-ever win against Flora – and ended an eight-game losing streak against the Tallinn giants.

Despite Flora dominating possession for large parts of the match, they struggled to break down a disciplined and energetic Harju side. The visitors controlled the ball, especially in the first half, but failed to seriously test the young Harju goalkeeper.

Harju, meanwhile, looked dangerous on the counterattack and nearly struck before the break, creating several promising opportunities.

The breakthrough came early in the second half. A well-executed attacking move saw Ramol Sillamaa finish calmly after being played through, lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to give Harju a deserved lead.

Flora responded by throwing numbers forward, increasing pressure with a series of corners and attacking substitutions. Their best chance came from the penalty spot, but Harju goalkeeper Vainula produced a crucial save to deny Sergei Zenjov, preserving the lead in the 70th minute.

The visitors thought they had equalised late on when Zenjov found the net following a corner, but the goal was ruled out for handball after a VAR review.

As Flora pushed desperately in stoppage time, they were caught out once again. Karl-Erik Ennuste capitalised on a defensive error, dispossessing the backline before calmly finishing into an empty net for his first ever Premium Liiga goal to seal a famous 2-0 victory.

Harju’s defensive resilience and clinical counterattacking proved decisive, while Flora were left frustrated after dominating possession but lacking cutting edge.

The result hands Flora their second defeat of the season, while Harju head into the international break with a landmark victory that could define their campaign.
