Lithuanian international striker Gytis Paulauskas is reportedly on the verge of a move to South Korea, with Slovakian and Korean media linking him to K League 1 side Jeju SK.

The South Korean top-flight season concluded two weeks ago, with Jeju SK narrowly securing their place in the division after a tense relegation battle. Despite the timing, the club appears to be active in the transfer market as it looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign.

The rumours have come as something of a surprise, not only because of the distance involved but also due to Paulauskas’ solid form in Slovakia.

The 26-year-old has been an important attacking presence for MFK Zemplín Michalovce this season, registering six goals and three assists in 15 appearances in the Nike Liga.

Paulauskas is also an established figure for the Lithuanian national team, having earned 29 caps and scored twice at international level.

Whether the striker will indeed make the move to Jeju SK remains to be seen, but the potential transfer would mark a significant and unexpected step in his career.
