Latvian international striker Vladislavs Gutkovskis scored his first goal for Arka Gdynia in the Polish Ekstraklasa as the club secured a 3-0 away victory over Wisła Plock, their first win on the road this season.

The 30-year-old started the match and found the net in the 62nd minute. After a mistake in Wisła’s passing, Gutkovskis broke through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, rounded him and finished into an empty net to make it 2-0.

The goal was Gutkovskis’ first for Arka, coming in his sixth appearance for the club. It also marked his 36th goal in the Polish Ekstraklasa, making him the highest-scoring Latvian in the history of the league, three goals ahead of Artjoms Rudņevs.

Gutkovskis was substituted in the 73rd minute with Arka leading by two goals. The visitors added another goal later in the match to complete the 3-0 victory.

The result ended Arka’s difficult run away from home this season. Before this match, the club had collected just one point from 13 away games, drawing once and losing twelve times.

With the win, Arka moved out of the relegation zone and now sit 15th in the 18-team Ekstraklasa table.

Arka’s next league match will take place on Sunday at home against Widzew Łódź.
