FK Grobiņa have officially announced the list of players and staff members who will not be part of the club for the 2026 Virslīga season.

Among those leaving are several local players. Midfielder Ralfs Denijs Džeriņš, winger Emīls Knapšis and midfielder Aleksejs Grjaznovs will all depart the club. The 30-year-old Knapšis had represented Grobiņa since 2017, back when the club was still competing in Latvia’s second tier. Over two Virslīga seasons with Grobiņa, the experienced player made 49 league appearances, registering three assists.

Another long-serving player, 28-year-old midfielder Ralfs Denijs Džeriņš, had been with Grobiņa since 2018. During the club’s two Virslīga campaigns, he featured in 52 top-flight matches. Meanwhile, his peer Aleksejs Grjaznovs, who joined the club midway through the season, played 16 league games in a Grobiņa shirt, scoring twice.

Several foreign players will also leave the club. Senegalese centre-back Boris Tchamba departs after making 11 Virslīga appearances last season. Belgian full-back Pie-Luxton Bekili, who was a regular in the squad, played 30 league matches and provided three assists. Senegalese midfielder Pape Doudou also leaves after featuring in 11 league games.

One of the most notable departures is Ukrainian striker Mykola Agapov, who played a key role in Grobiņa’s survival in the Virslīga. The 32-year-old joined the club in September and scored four goals in eight league matches. Agapov has reportedly received an attractive offer from Asia, meaning he will not continue with Grobiņa next season.

There will also be significant changes within the coaching staff. Assistant coaches Antons Jemeļins and Kristaps Grebis are both leaving the club as part of the offseason reshuffle.
