Lithuanian international attacking midfielder Paulius Golubickas made his mark in Finland’s top division with his first assist, as his club KuPS squandered a two-goal lead but ultimately secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over SJK.

The 26-year-old playmaker, starting for the first time in a league match since joining the Finnish side, quickly delivered. In the 17th minute, he surged down the left flank, cut into the box, and squared a sharp pass to Guinean striker Mohamed Toure, who finished clinically with his first touch to open the scoring.

KuPS doubled their advantage later in the first half, with Toure once again on target. However, the closing stages of the match turned tense as the visitors struck twice in the space of three minutes to level the score. KuPS responded immediately, and in the second minute of stoppage time, Piotr Parzyszek netted the decisive goal to seal all three points.

Just three days earlier, Golubickas had come off the bench in the Finnish Cup final loss against HJK. This time, he played almost the entire match, only being substituted deep into injury time. The outing marked his third league appearance since arriving on loan from Polish Ekstraklasa side Radomiak Radom.

With this victory, KuPS remain firmly in the title race. The team sits third in the table with 47 points, four behind leaders Ilves. Before their much-anticipated debut in the UEFA Conference League league phase next week, KuPS will first face Gnistan away on Saturday in league action.
