Lithuanian international Gvidas Gineitis featured from the start as Torino secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Parma in Serie A.
The 21-year-old midfielder made his sixth consecutive start for the Turin club and played the full match. The first half ended level, with both teams scoring once, but the game was decided early in the second half. Within the opening minutes after the restart, Parma scored two own goals in a three minute span, giving Torino a commanding 3-1 lead by the 57th minute.
Torino added a fourth goal late in the match when Colombian veteran striker Duvan Zapata found the net to seal the win.
The victory further increases Torino’s distance from the relegation zone. The Turin side now sit 13th in the table with 33 points from 29 matches, holding a nine-point advantage over the drop zone.
For Gineitis, the match marked his 21st Serie A appearance this season. The Lithuanian Footballer of the Year has recorded one assist in the league so far.
Torino will return to action next Saturday, when they travel to San Siro to face AC Milan.
