FK Žalgiris announced the signing of French central defender Thomas Basila from Quatari second tier club Al-Mesaimeer SC on a one season deal.
According to sportas.lt, Lithuanian champions signed a one-time France U-21 international and product of the Nantes academy – Thomas Basila (25). Joining FK Žalgiris on a one season deal, Basila will bring valuable international experience, having played for such large clubs as Nantes and Nancy in France and KV Oostnende in Belgium. He is joining Žalgiris from Quatari second tier club Al-Mesaimeer SC.
Basila has represented France in all junior teams, making one appearance for France U-21 in 2018.
The French centre-back is the most recent addition to the defensive line of FK Žalgiris, who also signed Bruno Tavares, Petar Bosančić, Mohammed Youla and goalkeeper Carlos Olses in the winter transfer window thus far.
