Latvian national team striker Marko Regža has officially signed a contract with FC Hradec Králové, the club announced today. The 26-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal, marking his first move abroad at senior level.

Regža arrives in the Czech Republic after three highly productive seasons with Riga FC, where he established himself as one of the most lethal attackers in the Latvian league. During Riga FC’s championship-winning campaign this season, the striker featured in 40 matches across all competitions, scoring 20 goals. In total, Regža amassed an impressive 61 goals in 120 appearances for the club.

The transfer was made possible by a clause in Regža’s contract that allowed him to leave Riga FC on a free transfer before January 15 – an option the striker chose to activate in order to join Hradec Králové, who currently sit seventh in the Czech First League.

Hradec Králové sporting director Petr Pojezný welcomed the signing, highlighting the club’s optimism about Regža’s potential impact.

“We are very pleased that we managed to bring Marko to the club, especially as he can join the team right at the start of pre-season, which is ideal,” Pojezný said. “He is a striker with very strong finishing ability, something he has consistently demonstrated in the Latvian league. We firmly believe he can further develop his potential here in Hradec Králové.”

Regža, who stands 195 cm tall, has earned 16 caps for the Latvian national team. While this move represents his first professional experience abroad at senior level, he previously spent a short period developing in Germany. Before joining Riga FC, he played domestically for FC RFS, SK Super Nova, and BFC Daugavpils.

With Regža’s arrival, the Latvian presence in the Czech top division continues to grow. He becomes the fourth Latvian player currently competing in the league, joining Rihards Matrevics (Dukla Prague), Raimonds Krollis (Slovan Liberec), and recently announced signing Kristers Penkevics (Zlín).
