Four-time league champion Jürgenson retires from professional football

Markus Jürgenson, who last played in the Premium Liiga two years ago, announced via Instagram that he has ended his professional career.

The 37-year-old winger has won 17 trophies during his long career, including four Estonian championship titles, six Estonian cup trophies, and seven Super Cups. He represented Tartu Tammeka, TVMK, FC Flora, and FCI Levadia in Estonia and played for VPS in Finland.

Throughout his career, Jürgenson competed in 472 Premium Liiga matches, scored 63 goals, and made 11 appearances for the Estonian national team. His final game in the Premium Liiga took place on October 2, 2022, against Nõmme Kalju, which Levadia won 1-0.
