**[Riga FC](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=882 "Riga FC") has officially announced the signing of 22-year-old Senegalese forward Meissa Diop, who makes the move from [Valmiera FC](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=1423 "Valmiera FC") ahead of the 2025 [Virslīga](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=1079 "Virslīga") season.**

Diop started his professional journey at AS Douanes de Dakar before signing with Valmiera FC in 2021. Over the past four seasons, he steadily established himself as a reliable attacking option. Across all competitions, he played 101 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists, demonstrating his ability to contribute in both scoring and playmaking roles.

In the 2024 Virslīga season, Diop made 31 league appearances, scoring four goals and assisting four times. He also played in two Latvian Cup matches and over the last two seasons, he appeared in six UEFA qualification matches.
