FC Flora Tallinn produced a dominant display on Saturday evening, crushing bottom-placed JK Tallinna Kalev 6-0 to reclaim top spot in the Premium Liiga standings. All it took was one blistering first half in which the reigning champions struck four times to put the result beyond doubt.

Earlier in the day, title rivals FCI Levadia temporarily moved to the top with a comfortable 3-0 away win over FC Kuressaare. But Flora responded in emphatic fashion in their own backyard against fellow Tallinn side Kalev, a team desperate for points to avoid relegation.

The tone of the night was set almost immediately. After just 27 seconds, Mark Lepik – making his first start since September 20 – was brought down in the box by Hugo Palutaja. The referee pointed to the spot, and Lepik himself calmly converted to give Flora the lead and score his first goal of the season.

Ten minutes later, Danil Kuraksin doubled the advantage. But there was a setback for Flora: Lepik, who had injured his shoulder during the penalty incident, was forced off in pain. His replacement, Rauno Sappinen, wasted no time making an impact – just a minute after coming on, the Estonian international latched on to a Markus Poom assist and scored his 15th goal of the season.

Flora weren’t done yet. In the 38th minute, 17-year-old Sander Alamaa added a fourth with a composed finish – his third goal of the campaign.

The second half followed a similar script. Sergei Zenjov made it 5-0, and in stoppage time, Sappinen bagged his second of the match, bringing his season tally to 16 goals and moving to the top of the league’s scoring chart.

The victory lifts Flora back to first place, level on points with Levadia but ahead on head-to-head record. Kalev, meanwhile, are facing a critical situation at the bottom of the table – another defeat in the next round could seal their relegation.

With four rounds remaining, Flora will face JK Narva Trans at home in three days, while Kalev meet Nõmme Kalju FC in what could be a must-win match for their survival.
