About the club

Ogre United is a Latvian football club based in Ogre, founded in 2022 with the aim of reuniting the city’s football community and restoring a senior representative side after a period without a local first team. Built around the idea of “one city, one team,” the club positioned itself as an open platform for Ogre-born and Ogre-developed players, regardless of previous clubs, background, or age, and has grown quickly through strong local buy-in and volunteer support.

On the pitch, Ogre United have risen rapidly through the Latvian football pyramid. They began in the fourth tier in 2022, winning their regional competition and reaching the season’s finals, which secured promotion to the third tier. In 2023, they won the Eastern zone in the first phase of the league and then finished second overall in the second phase to earn a place in the Nākotnes līga (Latvia’s second tier). After an 11th-place finish in their debut Nākotnes līga season, the club won the 2025 Nākotnes līga title and clinched promotion to the Virslīga, Latvia’s top division.

The club was founded by Juris Skābardis and Emīls Latkovskis – both products of Ogre’s youth football system – bringing complementary experience from professional playing and football administration. Following the 2025 title-winning campaign, Ogre United moved into preparations for top-flight football, including coaching staff changes ahead of their Virslīga debut in 2026.
