The 25-year-old defender had been a free agent since January but had been involved in FK Liepāja’s training activities for the past couple of months. Now, the club has made his arrival official.
A product of the FK Metta academy, Korotkovs made his top-flight debut with Metta in 2019. He remained with the club until the end of the 2021 season before making a switch to FK Auda. His performances quickly caught attention, and he received an offer to join Latvia’s wealthiest club, Riga FC. During his stint at Riga, he featured in 10 matches before returning to FK Auda in the summer of 2023.
Last season, Korotkovs played 23 matches in the Virslīga with FK Auda, contributing one assist. Over the course of his career, he has accumulated 84 appearances in Latvia’s top division, scoring four goals. Although he has been called up to the Latvian national team three times, he is yet to make his debut.
