FK Grobiņa have announced the departure of two foreign players – midfielder Zakaria Sdaigui and forward Arwin Kalmarzy.
The 25-year-old Italian central midfielder Sdaigui joined Grobiņa last summer and initially left a positive impression. This season he has been less prominent, but still managed to play in 19 matches, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Dutch-Iranian striker Kalmarzy arrived this winter and made a strong start, scoring 4 goals in his first 4 matches. However, his form soon declined and his playing time gradually decreased. Overall, he made 21 appearances and scored 5 goals for the club.
Grobiņa currently sit bottom of the Virslīga table in 10th place. Player recruitment has not gone as planned this season, despite the club’s significantly increased budget. Their next match will take place on August 24, away against FK Auda.
