Latvian champions and UEFA Europa League participants, FC RFS, are currently holding a training camp where two familiar faces from the Latvian Virsliga have arrived for a trial. One of them is Jeremie Porsan-Clemente, the former captain of Valmiera FC during the 2024 season.
The 27-year-old Martinique national team player is a product of the Marseille academy system and also played for Montpellier in France. He has made 3 appearances in Ligue 1. Before the 2023 season, he joined Valmiera FC, but after just two matches, he suffered a season-ending injury. Porsan-Clemente truly showcased his skills only during the 2024 season, where he became a key attacking player for Valmiera FC. Mostly playing as a left winger, he featured in all 36 Virslīga matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 6 assists. One of his highlights included a goal against RFS in the 11th round, where Valmiera FC triumphed 2-0 away.
The second player joining the RFS camp is 27-year-old right winger, Rendijs Šibass. A product of the Skonto academy, Šibass made his Virslīga debut with FK Metta before moving abroad to play for Swedish club Dalkurd FF in 2021. After a season in Sweden, he returned to Latvia and joined FK Auda, where he played his debut year in the Latvian Virsliga. After a year with Auda, Šibass returned to his former club, FK Metta, where he spent another two years. In the 2024 season, he was particularly noticeable for his leadership qualities on the field. Šibass registered 3 goals and 6 assists in 30 appearances, which earned him well-deserved attention from RFS.
Both players have already joined the club’s training camp and are already included in the squad for today’s friendly match against Dinamo Batumi.
