Lithuanian A Lyga side DFK Dainava Alytus is reinforcing its squad for the second half of the season by signing 24-year-old South Sudanese midfielder Manyumow Achol.

Commonly known as Manny, the New Zealand-born player holds South Sudanese citizenship and brings with him notable experience in Baltic football. From 2022 to 2023, the midfielder was a key figure in the Latvian Virslīga with FK Auda, where he made 57 appearances and scored five goals. During his time there, he played a crucial role in the midfield and helped the team win the Latvian Cup in the 2022 season.

Following his spell in Latvia, Manny moved to Bulgaria in the summer of 2024, joining Septemvri Sofia in the country’s top division. He featured in 11 league matches during his stint with the Bulgarian club.

Before arriving in the Baltics, Achol played solely for clubs in New Zealand. He has also been a regular call-up for the South Sudan national team, earning a total of 12 international caps. However, his most recent appearance for the national side came in November 2023.

Currently sitting at the bottom of the Lithuanian top flight, Dainava Alytus trails FK Riteriai by just three points after the first half of the season.
