Former Estonian international Oliver Jürgens is once again on the lookout for a new club after a short stint with Spanish side Elche B, according to local media reports.
The 22-year-old forward, once considered one of Estonia’s brightest young prospects, has reportedly left the club after growing disillusioned with his situation. Spanish outlet Esportbase notes that Jürgens is one of nine players exiting Elche’s reserve squad this summer. Having played in 12 matches and netting three goals, the striker is said to have returned home after he “got tired” according to reports.
Jürgens signed with Elche Ilicitano at the end of January but last featured for the team in April. Elche B finished the 2024 season mid-table, placing 10th in Group 3 of Spain’s Tercera Federación — the fourth tier in the country’s football pyramid. So far, there’s been no official word from Elche CF on the departures.
Jürgens’ football journey has been a winding one. Since moving abroad from Nõmme United in 2019, he’s already worn the jerseys of eight different clubs. His résumé includes stints in the youth ranks of several notable Italian sides — Roma, Inter Milan, Hellas Verona, and Torino — as well as time in Hungary with Újpest, Slovakia’s Dunajská Streda, and another Spanish team, Ponferradina.
