Estonia’s Under-17s have been handed a demanding group at this summer’s UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals on home soil, after being drawn alongside Belgium, Croatia and nine-time winners Spain.
The draw was made at Tallinn’s A. Le Coq Arena, with the eight finalists learning their group-stage opponents ahead of the tournament, which begins at the end of May. Estonia were placed in Group A with Belgium, Croatia and Spain, the competition’s record champions.
Group B will feature Montenegro, France, Italy and Denmark. France reached last year’s final, while Italy were champions two years ago.
The draw event was hosted by amateur footballer Robin Valting. Estonia senior men’s forward Henri Anier took part as the tournament’s official ambassador, with UEFA’s head of men’s national team competitions Marcello Alleca also in attendance.
Matches from 25 May will be staged across four venues: A. Le Coq Arena, Kadriorg Stadium and Kalev Central Stadium in Tallinn, with group games also played at Rakvere Stadium. The tournament will conclude with the final on 7 June at A. Le Coq Arena.
