Estonia head coach Jürgen Henn has named his squad for the FIFA Series tournament in Rwanda, where his side will face Kenya in the semi-finals on 27 March. Hosts Rwanda meet Grenada in the other last-four tie, with the third-place match and final scheduled for 30 March in Kigali.
Several senior players are unavailable for health reasons, including Karl Jakob Hein, Märten Kuusk, Karol Mets, Mattias Käit, Vlasiy Sinyavskiy, Robi Saarma, Maksim Paskotši, Joonas Tamm, Marten-Chris Paalberg, Martin Miller and Dimitri Jepihhin. Their absence has opened the door for a number of uncapped players.
Goalkeepers Henri Perk and Kaur Kivila could make their senior debuts, along with defenders Sander Tovstik, Mihhail Kolobov, Tanel Tammik and Kristofer Käit, midfielder Rommi Siht and forward Mattias Männilaan. More experienced options in the squad include Markus Poom, Vladislav Kreida, Kevor Palumets and Rauno Sappinen.
Estonia’s match against Kenya will be played at Amahoro Stadium and kicks off at 18:00 Estonian time. The other semi-final between Rwanda and Grenada starts at 21:00. The third-place match on 30 March begins at 19:00, with the final at 22:00.
Henn has selected three goalkeepers, 10 defenders, seven midfielders and four forwards for the trip to Africa. Levadia goalkeeper Karl Andre Vallner is included, while Alex Matthias Tamm and Karel Mustmaa feature in attack alongside Sappinen and Mattias Männilaan.
The FIFA Series events follow on from the pilot competitions held in 2024. Alongside the tournament in Rwanda, other four-team events are being staged in Australia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and Uzbekistan.
