Estonia and Pärnu Vaprus striker Mark Anders Lepik is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the Baltic Cup semi-final against the Faroe Islands.
The 25-year-old was forced off in the 37th minute of Estonia’s 1-0 victory in Pärnu after going down injured during an aerial challenge. While the incident initially appeared to involve contact to the head, Lepik immediately grabbed his knee and was unable to continue, with Mattias Männilaan replacing him.
The Estonian Football Association later confirmed the severity of the injury. Senior public and partnerships specialist Kaarel Täll revealed that an MRI scan conducted on Monday morning showed a ruptured ACL. After previously struggling with injuries to his left knee, this time the damage is to his right knee.
Pärnu Vaprus subsequently announced that Lepik is expected to undergo surgery next week. The club estimates a recovery period of between 10 and 12 months, effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the 2026 season and likely a significant part of next year as well.
The injury is another major setback for the forward, who has enjoyed a productive campaign while on loan from Flora. In 13 Premium Liiga appearances this season, Lepik scored two goals and provided four assists, helping Vaprus establish themselves in the middle of the table.
