FC Hegelmann have confirmed that midfielder Esmilis Kaušinis will continue his career with the club after signing a new contract with the Blue and Whites.
Kaušinis joined the club in July 2023 and has since become an important part of the team’s rotation. During his time with Hegelmann, the midfielder has made 58 appearances in the A Lyga, scoring three goals and providing six assists. He has also featured in four Lithuanian Football Federation Cup matches, registering three assists, and represented the club in two UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying fixtures. In total, Kaušinis has played 64 official matches for FC Hegelmann.
The midfielder arrived in Kaunas District at just 19 years of age. Prior to his move, he spent ten months in Italy with Lecce’s U19 side, gaining valuable international experience. Earlier in his career, Kaušinis represented Vilnius-based FK Riteriai, where he made his debut in the A Lyga. His football journey began at the Vilnius Football School before continuing at the Baltic Football Academy.
At international level, Kaušinis is a regular member of the Lithuania U21 national team and has also represented the U19 national team during European Championship qualification campaigns.
After signing the new deal, Kaušinis said the decision to remain at the club was a straightforward one:
“It wasn’t a difficult decision. After speaking with the club’s management, I felt their trust and saw a clear plan and strong ambitions. That’s what convinced me to continue this chapter here.”
Reflecting on his development and time at the club, the midfielder stressed that he feels settled but still has more to offer:
“I’ve been here for several years now and I feel at home. I know everything and everyone. But I also feel that I haven’t yet given everything I can. Injuries and other factors sometimes held me back, but I hope this season will be completely different.”
Kaušinis also expressed his appreciation for the club’s supporters, who regularly back the team in Raudondvaris:
“I want to thank our fans, no matter the weather, they always come and support us. From my side, I promise to do everything I can to make our matches exciting to watch.”
