# Ervīns Pērkons named Imishli interim head coach
**Latvian coach Ervīns Pērkons has been appointed interim head coach of Azerbaijani Premier League side Imishli after the club parted company with Farid Namazov by mutual consent.**

Pērkons joined Imishli as an assistant coach this summer and led the team’s training session on Wednesday. The club’s next match is away to fourth-placed Turan on Sunday.

Imishli are 10th in the 12-team league, with four points from seven matches. The 36-year-old previously spent several seasons as head coach of Super Nova and FS Jelgava in Latvia’s Virsliga and worked in Jelgava’s youth system prior to that.

He is also a regular contributor on Edmunds Novickis patreon podcast.
