Former Estonian international striker Erik Sorga has left Faroese side HB Tórshavn after both parties agreed to terminate his contract due to personal reasons.

HB confirmed the departure in a short official statement, thanking the 26-year-old forward for his contribution and wishing him success in the future.

Sorga only joined the Faroese runners-up at the end of February ahead of the new season, but his spell with the club turned out to be short-lived. The Estonian striker made seven appearances in the Faroese top flight and one in the cup, starting twice, though he was unable to find the back of the net during his eight matches.

The striker has earned 31 caps for the Estonian national team, scoring four goals, and previously enjoyed the best period of his career with FC Flora Tallinn, where he became one of the Premium Liiga’s standout attacking players.

During his time with Flora, Sorga scored over 40 league goals and also featured in European competitions, performances that earned him a move abroad. Over the years he has also had spells in the United States with D.C. United, while later continuing his career in Sweden, Azerbaijan and Vietnam before arriving in the Faroe Islands earlier this year.
