Bottom-placed A Lyga side DFK Dainava Alytus have announced the signing of Ukrainian forward Anton Dudik, who has spent the past two seasons in England.
The 20-year-old attacker is a product of the Volyn Lutsk academy, before moving to Poland in 2022 to join Śląsk Wrocław’s youth system. Despite nearly two years with the club, he never made his first-team debut.
In January 2024, Dudik switched to England, signing for Carlisle United, who at the time were competing in League One. He made just two appearances in the second half of that season, before being loaned to National League outfit South Shields FC the following year. There, he featured in eight matches, recording a single assist.
Dudik left Carlisle United as a free agent this summer, having played a total of four games for the club, and now joins Dainava as the Lithuanian side fight to avoid relegation. After 27 matches, the Alytus team sit last with 15 points, two adrift of ninth-placed Riteriai.
Dainava return to league action after the international break tonight, with a crucial away clash against FC Džiugas Telšiai. Kick-off is at 20:00 local time.
