Virslīga side FC RFS have confirmed that Serbian defender Aleksandar Filipović will remain at the club after signing a new two-year contract, keeping him in Riga until the end of the 2027 season. The agreement also includes an option to extend his stay beyond that period.

The 31-year-old centre-back joined RFS last summer from Serbian powerhouse Partizan and quickly became a key figure in the team. Filipović established himself as a regular starter during the second half of the campaign, making 16 appearances in all competitions and contributing two goals, including a goal in the Rīga derby win late in the season.

In a club statement, RFS confirmed that Filipović has committed to a two-year deal with an option for an additional extension. Prior to his move to Latvia, the defender spent three seasons with Partizan, where he made 88 appearances.

Filipović, a former Serbia youth international, was also part of the squad that won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2013.
