Latvian international Andrejs Cigaņiks delivered a moment of brilliance in the Swiss Super League, coming off the bench to score a spectacular late goal that rescued a 2-2 draw for FC Luzern against FC Lausanne-Sport.

The 28-year-old defender started the match on the bench and was introduced in the 60th minute with his team trailing 0-1. Things went from bad to worse in the 74th minute when Lausanne doubled their advantage, threatening to end Luzern’s unbeaten run.

But Luzern refused to fold. In the 84th minute, Kevin Spadanuda pulled one back with a precise finish, setting up a dramatic finale. Moments later, Cigaņiks made his mark. After his initial cross was cleared by the goalkeeper, Luzern quickly regained possession and launched another attack down the right flank. A powerful low cross was slightly deflected by the keeper, falling perfectly into the path of Cigaņiks, who smashed the ball into the top corner with a thunderous strike – sending the home fans wild.

The goal was Cigaņiks’ first of the season in seven league appearances. With the draw, Luzern extend their unbeaten streak to four matches and sit sixth in the table with 13 points from nine games.
