Latvian champions Riga FC have announced that they will not extend their cooperation with 30-year-old full-back Glody Ngonda Muzinga following the expiration of his contract.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international arrived in Rīga in the summer of 2021 as a high-profile signing, having previously spent the 2020/21 season with Dijon in France’s Ligue 1, where he made 30 appearances and scored two goals. Expectations were high, but a series of injuries over his four-and-a-half-year spell prevented Ngonda from completing even a single full season with the club.
This year, his playing time was especially limited. During Riga FC’s title-winning campaign, Ngonda featured in seven Virsliga matches. His best season in Riga colours came in 2023, when across all competitions he recorded three goals and six assists in 20 matches.
In total, Ngonda made 85 appearances for Riga FC, scoring four goals and providing 14 assists, consistently contributing from the flanks despite recurring fitness setbacks.
While at the club, the full-back also remained a regular for the DR Congo national team, earning 24 caps in total.
