In the Slovenian Prva Liga today, Armandas Kučys and Artemijus Tutyškinas team NK Celje played a goalless draw against NŠ Mura.

Ahead of their UEFA Conference League knockout phase play-off second leg game against APOEL FC, NK Celje had a league match against NŠ Mura. On Thursday, they played the first leg against APOEL, which ended in a 2-2 draw, with Armandas Kučys scoring both goals.

Today, the hero of that game started on the bench, which was predictable given that Kučys has just returned from a long-term injury. He will be crucial for the upcoming match in Cyprus next Thursday.

Meanwhile, another Lithuanian player on the team, Artemijus Tutyškinas, had the opportunity to start in today’s match. Tutyškinas did not play in the APOEL game as he is not registered for the knockout phase with Celje.

In their previous league game, which marked Armandas Kučys’s return, they lost to Maribor 1-2. Kučys scored the only goal for Celje, assisted by Tutyškinas, marking his first assist for his new club.

Today, the defending Slovenian league champions, who are unlikely to repeat that success this season, traveled to Murska Sobota to face local team NŠ Mura. Before the match, both teams were close in the table, with Celje in 5th place with 31 points and Mura in 6th place with 25 points.

Both teams needed a win to stay in the race for a European spot, and Mura appeared more eager from the start, creating dangerous chances. However, 19-year-old goalkeeper Luka Kolar made numerous saves to keep the match scoreless.

In the 77th minute, Armandas Kučys was brought on to change the game, but neither team could find a winning goal, resulting in a draw and both teams settling for one point.

This was Kučys’s 14th appearance in the Slovenian Prva Liga this season, where he has scored seven goals. Tutyškinas made his third appearance for his new club.

NK Celje remains in 5th place in the league table, now with 32 points after 21 games. Their next match will be against APOEL on Thursday, followed by a league game on Sunday when they host Radomlje.
