Lithuanian top-flight club FK Banga Gargždai have announced the arrival of two foreign reinforcements one week before the start of the new Toplyga season.

The first addition is 25-year-old German centre-back Ricardo Henning. Born in Jamaica and raised in Germany, Henning joins from Croatian side NK Vukovar 1991, whom he helped earn promotion to the Croatian top division for the first time in the club’s history. This season he made seven appearances in Croatia’s highest league.

Henning developed in the Eintracht Braunschweig academy and later spent several seasons within the 1. FC Köln system, making 75 appearances for their reserve side in Germany’s fourth tier. Before moving to Croatia, he also spent a season in the Dutch second division with Den Bosch.

The second signing will be more familiar to Lithuanian football followers. Twenty-seven-year-old Japanese winger Misaki Sato returns to the Toplyga after previously representing FC Hegelmann and FK Transinvest. Across three separate seasons in Lithuania’s top division, he has made 77 appearances and scored three goals.

Last season Sato played in South Korea’s second tier, splitting time between Chungnam Asan and Cheonan City. He featured in 24 league matches, scoring once and providing three assists. Earlier in his career, he also had spells in Montenegro and Austria.

FK Banga Gargždai will open their new Toplyga campaign on February 22 in Marijampolė against last season’s runners-up FC Hegelmann.
