Tomorrow the A Lyga leaders Kauno Žalgiris’ will start their journey in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, as the Lithuanian side faces off against Penybont from Wales in the first round.
However, the Welsh club’s trip to Lithuania didn’t go smoothly. According to a post by the Facebook page Sveiks valio, Penybont’s luggage went missing during transit, leaving the players without essential football gear. As a result, they had to spend over €3,300 at a local store to replace the equipment.
The same page also shared a security camera image showing players shopping for football equipment at a local store—though the post was later deleted.
The first leg of the tie will take place in Jonava, Lithuania, with the return match scheduled for July 17 in Wales. The winner of this matchup will go on to face either Valur of Iceland or FC Flora Tallinn of Estonia in the next round.
