Before their second friendly match at the Cyprus training camp, FK Kauno Žalgiris strengthened their squad with the addition of Austrian defender Nosa Edokpolor.
The 28-year-old left-back holds dual Austrian and Nigerian citizenship and has spent most of his career playing in Austria.
After learning the basics of football in Austria, Edokpolor briefly moved to Italy, where he played in Palermo’s youth system. Upon returning to Austria, he spent several years in the lower divisions before joining Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2020.
During his time at Altach, he made over 80 appearances before deciding to take on a new challenge abroad, signing with Dinamo Tbilisi in the Georgian top division last year.
In just a few months, Edokpolor played 14 matches for Dinamo, providing one assist, before becoming a free agent at the end of the season.
Now, he has arrived in Limassol, Cyprus, and joined the Kauno Žalgiris squad. He is set to make his debut today in a friendly match against Denmark’s Lyngby.
