Aurora Futsal have been crowned Estonia’s women’s futsal champions after beating Keila on penalties in Sunday’s final at Kohila sports hall.
The regular-season leaders, who finished unbeaten and 10 points clear at the top, had to come from behind repeatedly in a dramatic title decider. Aurora struck first but were forced to respond four times as the match ended 5-5 after normal time.
Liis Steinberg scored twice for Aurora, with Anett Vilipuu, Liisi Kalinina and Katrin Loo also on target. Loo’s 38th-minute goal ensured the final went to a shootout.
Gerli Israel, Heidi Melis, Helene Kala, Berit Israel and Iiris Nurmoja scored for Keila but Aurora then won the shootout 5-4 to secure the championship.
