# Auda claim September Virslīga awards as Puriņš and Zanetti recognised
**FK Auda have claimed both of September’s Tonybet Virslīga individual awards, with goalkeeper Nils Toms Puriņš named Player of the Month and head coach Didier Zanetti receiving the coaching award for the second consecutive month.**

Auda enjoyed an unbeaten September, collecting eight points from four matches with victories over Grobiņa and Ogre United alongside draws against title contenders Riga FC and RFS. The results extended the club’s unbeaten league run to eight matches, comprising five wins and three draws across August and September.

Puriņš, 28, played every minute of Auda’s four September fixtures, keeping clean sheets against Grobiņa and Ogre United while conceding just three goals across the two matches against Riga’s leading clubs.

The award is the first of his career and comes during an impressive debut season with Auda. The Latvian goalkeeper has made 27 Virslīga appearances in 2026, recording 11 clean sheets, while his performances in September also earned him a call-up to the Latvia national team.

Puriņš previously spent much of his career at Riga FC, making 81 Virslīga appearances for the club between 2019 and 2025, including 48 clean sheets. He also featured five times for Super Nova last season before joining Auda.

The goalkeeper was selected ahead of teammate Andrews Appiah, Riga FC’s Iago Siqueira, Super Nova defender Mārcis Ošs and Daugavpils midfielder Abdul Kader Traoré.

Zanetti, meanwhile, has been recognised as the league’s best coach for the second successive month. Auda also went unbeaten throughout August, winning three matches and drawing one, meaning the Frenchman has overseen an eight-match unbeaten league run heading into October.

The former Latvian Cup winners have continued their strong form under Zanetti, who guided Auda to the 2025 trophy, with their recent results including draws against both clubs competing for this season’s Virslīga title.
