Žalgiris have extended striker Liviu Antal’s contract, keeping the Romanian in Vilnius for a further season.

The 36-year-old forward is set for an eighth campaign with the club, having first played for Žalgiris between 2017 and 2020 before returning in 2023. Since coming back, Antal has remained a key figure on the pitch and in the dressing room.

Antal is the A Lyga’s all-time leading foreign goalscorer and has twice finished as the Lithuanian top scorer. He passed 100 goals for Žalgiris across all competitions last season and has now registered 103 goals and 26 assists during his time with the club.

In the 2025 campaign, Antal helped Žalgiris secure third place in the league. He scored nine goals in the final nine rounds, and from his return to Vilnius in June he made 24 appearances, scoring 14 times and adding four assists.

Antal has won two Lithuanian A Lyga titles with Žalgiris, as well as four runner-up finishes and a bronze medal. He has also lifted the Lithuanian Cup and the Super Cup once each.
