Vladimir Vassiljev’s first home game as Paide Linnameeskond head coach ended in disappointment, as his side fell 0–1 to an organized JK Narva Trans outfit in the Premium Liiga Matchday 15.

The match offered few clear chances, but it was Trans who made the most of a rare opportunity in the 34th minute. After winning a free-kick on the left flank, Aleksander Filatov sent in a curling delivery that eventually found Georgian center-back Shalva Burjanadze at the far post. His initial effort was blocked, but the rebound—deflected off Delevic—landed in the net to give the visitors the lead.

Trans lined up without league top scorer Pierre Kabore, who was away on international duty with Burkina Faso. However, the team showed they could cope without their talisman, defending resolutely and keeping Paide’s attack at bay for most of the match. The job became easier in the 70th minute when Joseph Saliste received his second yellow card in quick succession and was sent off, leaving Paide down to ten men for the final 20 minutes.

Paide, who were already missing key players Siim Luts and Dražen Dubackić, had to make further changes—Hindrek Ojamaa and Oskar Hõim returned to the starting XI after serving suspensions. Still, the home side lacked a finishing touch. Despite some late pressure and a dangerous free-kick opportunity deep into stoppage time, they couldn’t find a way through.

There was late drama when Trans thought they had doubled the lead through Mykhailo Kozushko in the 87th minute, but the goal was chalked off for a handball in the build-up.

With this win, Trans extends their streak to five consecutive victories and go into the international break just four points off league leaders FC Flora. Paide, on the other hand, trails Trans by five points, with much work to do before the season resumes.
