Estonian midfielder Vladislav Kreida is parting ways with Czech First League side Sigma Olomouc, just months after joining the club in January.
The 25-year-old signed a six month deal with Sigma during the winter transfer window, which included an option to extend the contract for an additional two and a half years. However, it has now been confirmed that the extension clause will not be exercised.
The club officially announced Kreida’s departure — along with three other players — during a fan event attended by head coach Tomáš Janotka and sporting director Ladislav Minář, according to Czech outlet infotbal.cz.
Sigma Olomouc wrapped up their Czech First League campaign in sixth place and capped off the season in style by winning the Czech Cup, defeating powerhouse Sparta Prague 3–1 in the final. Despite the team’s success, Kreida did not feature in any of the cup matches and was given just one brief appearance in the top flight, coming off the bench for four minutes. Most of his match action came with Sigma’s reserve side in the Czech second division, where he made eight starts.
Kreida’s recent form has also affected his national team prospects. He was not included in head coach Jürgen Henn’s squad for Estonia’s upcoming June internationals. To date, Kreida has earned 21 caps for the Estonian senior national team.
At club level, the midfielder has had a varied career. He has made 111 appearances and scored seven goals in Estonia’s top flight with FC Flora. Abroad, Kreida has played in Sweden with Helsingborgs IF and Skövde AIK, in Ukraine with Veres Rivne, and most recently in Ireland with St Patrick’s Athletic.
