In the Estonian Premium Liiga match, Nomme Kalju FC defeated JK Tallinna Kalev with a score of 6:1. Ivans Patrikejevs scored two goals and provided one assist for the home side, spoiling the debut for 17-year-old goalkeeper Miron Vetkal.
Heading into this match, Kalju was on a three-game winning streak and aimed to continue that success. Meanwhile, the players of Tallinna Kalev were eager to put behind them their previous match, where they suffered a shocking 0:9 defeat against Levadia.
Kalju’s manager, Nikita Andreev, gave 22-year-old Sander Liit his first start of the season. The young defender, who transferred from Kuressaare in the winter, had made two league appearances for Kalju this season, both as a substitute. Conversely, Kalev’s manager, Teemu Tainio, made changes after the heavy loss, giving two players their first starts of the season. Seventeen-year-old goalkeeper Miron Vetkal made his Premium Liiga debut, and veteran striker Ats Purje also started.
In his debut match, Vetkal allowed an early goal. In the 3rd minute, Ivans Patrikejevs found Oleksandr Musolitin at the edge of the box, and Musolitin curled a shot into the goal, making it 1:0. Later in the first half, Kalju had a chance to double their lead when Guilherme Smith won a penalty kick. Smith took the penalty himself, but the teenage goalkeeper guessed correctly and made a spectacular save, keeping the scoreline at 1:0.
Just five minutes after the missed penalty, Kalju conceded the equalizing goal. Twenty-year-old Aleksander Svedovski took a long-range free kick that caught the goalkeeper off guard and found the back of the net. This was Svedovski’s second goal of the season.
As both teams headed into halftime tied, the second half was a different story, with Nomme Kalju dominating the play. In the 50th minute, Ivans Patrikejevs calmly placed a shot in the bottom right corner to restore Kalju’s lead. Ten minutes later, Kristjan Kask doubled their advantage with a long-range shot into the bottom left corner, which was beyond the reach of the teenage goalkeeper.
Patrikejevs then scored a stunning goal, converting a free kick taken by Nikita Ivanov with an overhead kick to make the score 4:1, leaving the supporters in awe.
In the 77th minute, Kalev’s situation worsened when Tomberg received a second yellow card and was sent off just nine minutes into his appearance on the field. Following this, Kalju added two more goals through Mihhail Orlov and Nikita Ivanov to secure a commanding 6:1 victory over the struggling Tallinna Kalev. This marked Kalju’s fourth consecutive league win, while Kalev remained winless in their last four matches.
With this win, Kalju moved closer to the Top 3, accumulating 16 points after nine matches, while Tallinna Kalev remained at the bottom of the league table with just four points.
