In the Slovakian top flight, Estonian talent Dimitri Jepihhin’s goal streak ended, as his team, AS Trenčín, played to a 2:2 draw against Ružomberok.
The 19-year-old Jepihhin scored his first two goals for the club in the previous two league matches against Banská Bystrica and Komárno after moving to Slovakia from Paide Linnameeskond. Today, Jepihhin started for the second consecutive game as Trenčín aimed for their third win in a row. The match began positively for them when they scored the opening goal in the 5th minute, thanks to 19-year-old Slovak Adrian Fiala.
Later in the first half, Ružomberok equalized. However, in the second half, Jepihhin’s team regained the lead. Just as in the first half, Ružomberok managed to tie the game again, resulting in a final score of 2:2.
Dimitri Jepihhin made his fifth appearance for Trenčín today. He played the full first half before being substituted at the start of the second half.
With five games remaining in the league, Trenčín is currently 8th in the table with 30 points, six points ahead of 11th-place Ružomberok, which is at risk of relegation. Jepihhin and his team will face Michalovce next Saturday.
