Estonian national team player Mattias Kait was unable to finish the game today due to a head injury. His team, FC Rapid București, secured a place in the Romanian Cup semifinals by defeating second division side Metalul Bușau 3-0.

The 26-year-old midfielder who scored the game-winning goal for Estonia in their 3-2 victory against Moldova last Monday started today in the Romanian Cup quarterfinal match but had to leave the game early due to an injury.

In the 11th minute, during an aerial duel, he was struck in the back of the head by an opponent’s head and went down. Although he initially continued playing, he asked for a substitution in the 28th minute while sitting on the field and holding his head, with the score still at 0-0.

Despite being unable to score in the first half against their second division opponents, Rapid București turned the game around in the second half, netting three goals in 19 minutes to secure their place in the final four, where they will face fellow Superliga side FC Hermannstadt.

In the league, Rapid București is still in contention for the title. Their next match is scheduled for Sunday against Dinamo București.
