Baltic football returns after international break with Sūduva hosting Džiugas

Baltic football returns after the international break for game week 4 with matches across Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia starting on Friday and going throughout the weekend.

Association football in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia returns for GW4 after the international break which saw clubs take the opportunity to play national, regional and international friendlies, and national teams of the three countries compete with varying degree of success in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

GW4 will kick off in Lithuania later today, as Sūduva will host table rivals Džiugas at 19:00 in the southern Lithuanian city of Marijampole. Coming into GW4, Džiugas find themselves at the top of A Lyga, with Sūduva second and equal on points but two goals behind on goal difference. Defending Champions, FK Žalgiris, are trailing in number 4 a single point behind.

The A Lyga fixture will be the sole match in the Baltics on Friday.

Saturday will see more action as football in Latvia and Estonia joins in. In Estonia, Tammeka will start the day off with a customary Estonian early afternoon fixture as they host Vaprus in Tartu at 12:30. Newly promoted Harju will then host Narva in Laagri at 14:30 and Kuressaare will travel to Tallinn where they will play FC Flora at 17:00.

In Latvia, Riga will be the football capital of the day as Riga FC will host perky Daugavpils at 15:00 and defending Champions RFS will be tested by a resurgent Liepāja at the LNK Sporta Parks at 17:00.

Back in Lithuania, Šiauliai will welcome Kauno Žalgiris, with whom they are level on points at 4 each, at 16:00 and currently third place Hegelmann will put newly promoted Riteriai through the paces at home at 17:00.

The action will continue on Sunday as Estonia, again, will offer some early morning football with Paide hosting struggling Kalev at 12:30. Defending Champions Levadia will then see if they can continue their unbeaten run in a lesser known Tallinn derby against Kalju at 14:30.

In Latvia, turbulent Grobiņa will welcome Metta at 15:00 and Jelgava will make their way up to the capital to see if they can spoil Auda‘s weekend at 17:00.

In A Lyga, Panevėžys will welcome Banga, whom they are currently trailing by a single point, at 15:00. Lithuania will then also close off GW4 with Dainava hosting underwhelming FK Žalgiris, who are entering GW4 from the 4th place, at 18:25.
