After scoring an opening goal against Tallinna Kalev during last round’s match, FC Flora’s Rauno Sappinen tied for the club’s all time top-scorer with Vjatseslav Zahovaikoga at 121 Premium liiga goals.
FC Flora‘s Rauno Sappinen (29) made history last Saturday when he scored the first of his team’s four goals against struggling Tallinna Kalev. In scoring his 121st Premium liiga goal, Sappinen tied with Flora legend Vjatseslav Zahovaikoga for all-time top scorer of the club.
Rauno Sappinen achieved his 121 goals over 202 games, during which time he also gave 43 assists. Himself a product of the Flora academy, Sappinen was with the club until 2019, at which point he was sold to Polish top tier side Piast Gliwice for a reported fee of EUR 400,000.00. From there, he moved to Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel in 2023, before returning to Flora last summer.
In the three games of the 2025 season thus far, he already scored twice and recorded a single assist, placing himself in a strong position to surpass Zahovaikoga and to become Flora’s undisputed all-time top scorer already in the near future.
