FA Šiauliai announced the signing of Serbian centre-forward Milan Đokić, who will be joining the Lithuanian club from Kazakh second tier side Shakhter Karaganda.
Milan Đokić (27) is an experienced striker with some experience of playing abroad, having previously represented clubs from Kazakhstan and North Macedonia. He is joining Šiauliai from Kazakh second tier side Shakhter Karaganda, where he scored two goals and made two assists during his 12 matches for the club
With Šiauliai starting the season thin on strikers, the addition of Đokić as only the second dedicated centre-forward is likely intended to add depth to the position and to put competitive pressure on Augustinas Klimavičius (23), who is a player of broadly similar profile.
Previously known for their policy of favouring either local players, Šiauliai have been active on the transfer market during the winter transfer window. Indeed, whereas the club only played with two foreign players over the last two season, Serbian striker already became the fifth foreign signing at FA Šiauliai since Dainis Kazakevičs took over as head coach in December of last year.
