The 25-year-old attacking midfielder Vladimirs Stepanovs will once again represent SK Super Nova in the upcoming season. Stepanovs, a product of Liepāja’s football academy, has gained extensive experience playing for various clubs throughout his career.
Vladimirs began his adult football journey with a loan move to Karosta, followed by a transfer to the Lithuanian club Palanga. After that, Stepanovs returned to Latvia and joined Valmiera, but he struggled to secure significant playing time there. In 2022, he signed with SK Super Nova, which was making its debut in the Virslīga at the time. His impressive performances earned him a move to FK Auda.
During his time with FK Auda, Stepanovs played 31 Virslīga matches across the 2022 and 2023 seasons, scoring six goals. Last year, he started the season with Auda but moved to FK Tukums in the summer, where he played 10 matches. Now, he has rejoined SK Super Nova and is preparing for the challenges of the new Virslīga season.
In the opening round of the season, SK Super Nova faces a tough test against Riga FC, the Virslīga runners-up from last year, on March 6.
